A/C Outside Temperature Sensor.

I'm getting a flashing 03 on the LH temperature control that I can't reset. The code indicates that the value measured by the Outside Tempearture Sensor is either Too Large or Too Small. I've taken the sensor out and measured its resistance as 6.6K Ohms. Can anybody advise if this is correct? or do I have a wiring problem. Bob

Update: I think the sensor is OK because it measures 17.6K Ohms after being in the freezer for half-an hour, 6.6K Ohms at room temperature, and 2.3K Ohms after being on top of a hot radiator. The flashing 03 won't reset so, any pointers would be welcome. Bob.

There is a TSB towards the bottom of this page concerning 03 codes: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ccreset.htm Otherwise all I can suggest is testing the wiring back to the temperature control module.

Thanks Guys, after checking the sensor was OK (above), I checked its wiring and that the contacts were clean before plugging it back in with a bit of a wiggle to make sure it was secure. I was then able to reset the flashing 03 code and its been OK for the last 24 hours. So, this looks like it was just a bad contact and another problem that was due to the car being off the road for a year, and the fault code was indeed correct. Bob
