Hi Guys. Lets start by wishing you all a very happy new year, and a new year bringing a new problem, Didn't use the car for three days over xmas and it went flat, just not enough to turn it over. Jumped it and all ok except that the alarm light stayed on when driving. After a couple of days the light went off but has now come back on again. An ingress possibly? Look forward to reading your replies, Many thanks Lee

Have you disconnected the battery, it may help.

Could be low battery voltage-had similar cured by battery charge and disconnect. Not had the problem since- I now use a trickle charger on that battery if it is not used for a few days. I really need a new battery I suppose.

I had exactly the same symptoms recently and apparently the same cause. I jump started the car after a few weeks over Xmas new year and the dashboard alarm led would not go out. Until I properly charged the battery and replaced it.

Another thing that seems to happen to some Scorpios is when the battery is flat and you try to start it and fail, the hazard-flashers come on. This happened every time to Aunty when the battery started to go, but once the voltage got higher after running for Five minutes or so the hazards went off. The dash light stayed on for longer, usually about Ten to Twenty miles. Hth Peter

Probably battery voltage has recovered with the use.
