Estate Roof bars leaking

Good morning folks.
I have water dripping from the Headliner in the rear of my Cossie Estate which needs attending to.
I believe the cause is failed seals between the Roof bars and the Roof. Can somebody tell me how to remove the bars to replace the seals if I can get them that is. Or can i re-seal the gaskets?
My cars live outside and in this weather I need to solve the prob. asap. I have parked him with the nose slightly up so the water gathers to the rear of the car.
Also, nearly forgot, the Tailgate window seal also leaks, so I look forward to all advice given.

Mike. I guess the proper way is to remove the headlining and undo the rails in order to effect a proper seal. A stop gap might be to seal with clear silicone around the mounting points externally. Do you have a sunroof,as I do?. I found water leaking in over the near side sun visor and cleaning out inside the 'tray' and putting silicone grease on the rubber seems to have stopped that. It could be that might be the source if you have one fitted.
The tailgate window seal would seem to be a case of lifting the rubber and applying a proprietary sealant or again using a silicone sealant. Your problem would seem to be getting the opportunity to do any of this in the dry as clearly that is important in achieving a good seal.

Thanks Simmo. As you say getting a dry spell is my greatest problem, so frustrating  .
Yes, all my cars have sunroofs and I did remove the one on "The Beast" but that was years ago when we could rely on a few days dry weather.
Methinks I will give the seals a good greasing (Silicone), and see what happens. Yet, again, they are all soaking wet so slapping a load of grease onto them whilst they are in this state may not be a good plan  .
It could be that the rear drain holes in the Sunroof housing are blocked and I know that pushing an old plastic covered lace curtain hanger wire through the drains will clear them, but as far as I can remember in order to access the rear ones I would need to remove the Sunroof.....Aaaaaaaggghhhh - I ain't "Singing in the rain." More like "Down came the rain, it's RAINING AGAIN." I could cry!
I am now considering Duck Taping around the Sunroof and the Tailgate Window, and clear sealing around the Roofbars as you suggest as a tempory measure.
Duck Tape all over me beautifull Scorp!! Dont like that idea.
Never mind eh! Happy day.

Rear drains on estate sunroof exit behind the rear wheels - plastic tube comes through the floor behind the bumper and may or may not have a rubber valve. You should be able to locate by feel and poke the surtain wire up  If you want to try rodding from the roof end you should be able to do it with the sunroof wound back but finding the holes might be a bit tricky.

On the 4th. inst. I put sealent around the top of the Tailgate window, parked her nose down on the drive and so far there is no ingress of water.  . I will just go out and raise the Tailgate and see what happens...... 1min. No drips...... 5mins. Dry as a bone! Yeeehhaaaa! .
Just parked her halfway out of the drive; nose now up.....waiting....... 5mins, still dry. . However it's stopped raining so no water on the Sunroof. Probably won't have to wait long though. Mind you, the clouds are clearing and there is blue sky and SUNSHINE. 
There is a strong possibility that the water was entering the Tailgate via the window seal and pooling in the Highlight compartment in the Tailgate window (can't think what it's called) and then flooding into the actual roof via the flexible electric cable housings. Just going to pour some water into the Sunroof comp...... No ingress. Great stuff. I love Scorps. I love this site!

Mike. The unit you refer to is the High Level Brake Light Ironically I had a similar issue with my wife's Mondeo. In that case I think the seal under the rear washer, which sits on the roof above the tailgate, was suspect. In that instance water was entering there,following the cable into the unit causing it to become damp. I applied silicone grease under the seal and so far all is well despite the horrendous weather. Good luck with yours and let's hope you've cured it.
