Strange idle problem

Hello there! My 2.0i 16v 1995' manual scorpio has strange problem, when I drive, for example on constant 60km/h, then pull out of the gear and put in neutral position rpm rises to 2k - 2.5k and stays there until complete stop, when i stop, then it drops to normal ~800rpm. TPS or ICV? Also, throttle cable isn't getting stuck, it is possible to rise rpm with accelerator pedal while rolling in neutral, rpm rises normally, but then again drops to 2-2.5k rpm. Haven't tried diagnostic yet, but just wanted to get clear what to check.

Never had this problem when I owned a Scorpio, but had the same problem on my Jeep Grand Cherokee a little while ago. A quick scan with my Autel MS509 OBDII scanner revealed it was the TPS at fault. If you don't have a diagnostic scanner to hand & before you pay someone to scan it.....remove the ICV & give it a good clean with carb spray.....it may be that it's coked up & sticking
