Leaky oil cooler???

Hi guys , thought i had a leaky gear box but turns out its the auto transmission cooler (think thats right) . Do ford still do them ? Or does anyone have one laying about they are willing to sell . Car still runs like a dream ,just have to keep my eye on the oil level , the wife is giving me a bit of earhole because its made a bit of a mess of the drive way (kerb appeal dont you know!!!) .while im on here whats the best way to clean oil off the floor if there is a way ? Thanks in advance .rich

I know the pipes from the gearbox to the cooler can split and leak.

The cooler can leak where the pipes just go in, pipe to side of cooler joint if you get what I mean. Thats what happened to mine, but the pipes also rust, where they dip under the rad. The pipes are no longer in stock at fords, but Trevor at Fordparts uk may still have them.

You can always cut the rubber pipe and use some small bore copper pipe and jubilee clips to secure them. the pressures are not too high and do work OK from previous members reports.

BnQ do some acid slab cleaner, great at getting the oil out but if ypu have block paving it can suck some of the die out of them.

Managed to get a cooler rad from spikes scorpio for 35 quid . So will have it fitted tomorrow .matt , will try that acid stuff , its not block paving so taking the dye out wont be a problem . Thanks for that
