Is this a Scorpio we are talking about here or a different type of car ?

Sounds like either a stuck relay or if a Scorpio, a wet fusebox  Shocked

Yes but are the drain holes clear?. Have a read of This page and This page to check the drain holes on both sides are clear. Is there any sign of water on the passenger floorwell coming from behind the glove box?. If so the battery side fuse box is certain to be soaked. Sad

With all the rain weve had id say wet fuse box aswell, they can be stripped/dried/ cleaned pretty easily, however getting the drivers side box off is a fiddly job
