Alarm will not set

24v was laid up for a couple of months (in a garage). When getting it out battery was dead and a new on fitted and everything reprogrammed . All was well until the following day when after a short trip the car would not unlock with the remote. Reprogrammed remote and all ok but happened again today and now will not program with either of the two remotes-fitted new batteries just in case. Now the alarm will not set even when locking with the key and I don't think it sounds as though it will double lock either. Ideas please, I am wondering if there is a lock switch problem.

Further to the above, the alarm will set with the key if locked from the passenger door, but not from the driver's door although the central locking operates . All other functions on driver's door(windows etc)operate normally.

Have you tried unplugging the drivers door connector just in case it’s a bad connection stopping that side working.

Do you have a tricom obd lead - it can read central locking codes from the CCM.
A cheap Elm 327 can also read CCM codes with Forscan software, but whether you’ll get useful info who knows:

I always get boot codes – I think they may occur after using the remote.

Thanks for that, I will give your suggestions a try. I thought about the connector but stupidly thought that because the central locking works that the alarm should.
I do have a Snapon scanner but not sure how much it reads. Certainly does ABS and PATS so I will try.
I will let you know.

Update- Problem solved.
With working remote programmed ok locked and alarm set ok.
You were right- attacked the connector to the door and eventually after fiddling and tightening it very tight everything now working as advertised ! I guess there must be separate circuits to trigger the central locking and the alarm set.
Thanks for your help
Glyn
P.S. No codes on the scanner but it did not list alarm, just "anti theft devices "(PATS definitely) listed
