Can’t unlock my car

I took my Scorpio to Norway at Christmas and left it there until I came back to Norway yesterday. Before I left I took the battery out and locked the car. I normally unlock the car with the remote and close it with the key. I could close both front doors with the key but could only open the passenger door. Now I can’t open the passenger door with my key, I think the lock is worn. I am not have any luck with the rear door either. If I could open the bonnet I could put the battery in and open the car with the remote. I don’t think the locks are frozen. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks In advance Tony

The boot lock could be stuck in, the button should protrude about 5mm at a guess otherwise the key won't turn. Try giving it a squirt of WD40 turning the key a little & pulling the button out with it.

I too have experienced the boot lock button sticking in preventing the key turning, and it does not have to be all the way in either. As a matter of interest, if the battery was reconnected would it automatically operate the central locking to unlock the doors ? I don't think the remote would operate without re-programming, which means getting in the car first doesn't it? Glyn

Thanks for everyone's help. My wife opened the drivers door by running a wire coat hanger down the top of the door frame on the inside. She then pulled the locking handle out. She did very well considering its her first attempt at grand theft auto. I cannot unlock the doors or the boot with the key anymore so I will make another post about sorting this. Thanks Tony
