Cosworth non starter

My cosworth was starting/driving perfectly no probs, parked in drive last night  turned the key this morning now wont start just churns overHuh?

Battery issue?. This can and does happen if a cell goes down or if the alternator is not putting enough in to keep it charged up. Do you do a lot of short runs. Try jump starting it or charging the battery overnight and see what the result is. These cars require a lot of power to start even though they do turn over. A simple cheap batter/alternator tester is invaluable for problems like this. Let us know how you get on. Wink

New  battery about a month ago, i keep car as a classic so it doesnt do a lot of miles, starter is turning over quickly just no attemp to fire its done about 150 miles this week most of them yesterday and drove great no issues apart fromthe heat on an earlier post.

Have you got fuel pressure ? Can you hear the fuel pump running ?
Have you got a spark at the plugs ? Check the wiring to the coil packs as the insulation has a reputation for breaking up and causing all sorts of ignition problems.

Fuel shut off never thought of that although havent been in the boot and thers nothing in it and spare is tightly secured, car has been laid up for 2 years it got a service. new battery and bodywork tidy up, car was starting on the button and driving as a cosworth should  and never gave problems in the 7 years of owning it so  this morning came as a surprise

In the boot panel. Here  It is designed to cut off the fuel supply if you are involved in a prang. It is set off by impact so unless you have been banging around there it is an unlikely cause. Smiley

I had a problem with the switch in my Granada Scorpio, water and dirt got in it over the years and cut the pump off.
I had to remove it and cleaned it with WD40, other products are available Grin Grin, I think I just kept working it to clean the contacts.
