PATS Light Permanently on

The Red pats led on the dash is permanently on. It stays on no matter if the engine is on or off or the car is locked or unlocked. I am also having problems with the remote, it programs but and works for a while then stops, not sure if this is related to the pats light as the remote is very old. Can anyone help ? Thanks Tony

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 30 mins, or overnight. Gerald.

Have you got all the wires on, I think there is a couple of small ones that can hide. Gerald

Members in the past have reported the same problem after a flat battery but have had problem solved by either charging the battery, replacing it or driving for a few days to get the voltage up.

Hi Tony Have a look here under Alarm sounds - last item in the Electrical concerns section: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/faultfinds.htm Is your alarm sounder that's located behind the battery connected? Just wondering if the alarms activated but you can't hear it. Dave

The battery is new and fully charged. I checked the alarm sounder and it looked connected. on Thursday the light returned to normal but then came on again Friday. Now its back to normal. I am thinking this is water or damp as the car was under 1ft snow for the last 3 weeks (i keep the car in Norway for the winter). Thanks to everyone who replied. Tony

To test if the sounder works, open a window, lock the car, reach in & try & open the door - have your key handy to to cancel it
