Hi, Just in the past week when I open with the remote control fob and door still open and within a few minutes you can hear the locking mechanism locking itself, then the alarm goes off - stops when I press open on the fob. or with the key. thanks, Podge.

Check the bonnet switch too. A well known problem spot.

Many thanks too, pjdavis & Simmo, But, the fault lay in the remote, 2 years ago I changed to tactile switches this has worked great everytime. I tried everything, even disconnecting the battery to see if it would re set itself -the fault was the tectile switch that locks the car, it was on all the time, on examining the switch looked dirty and it was stuck in the down position my trusty switch cleaner did the job and now the alarm is back to normal. Thanks again. Podge. PS, another fault to add to the list.
