Fuse 17 blown

Lately, I have a problem with the electronics of my 1994 (dec) Ford Scorpio 2.9L 24v (Cosworth).
Fuse 17 keeps blowing out (7.5A). According to the manual this fuse contains "Electronics" and gives me no further specifications.
Due to this blown fuse the following things happen in the car:
- Clock does not work;
- Climate control unit does not function, air blower works at continuous speed.
- No gearbox selection sounds;
- Dancing needles before starting;
- Interior lights do not work;
So most instruments on the middle of the dash do not work. Suprisingly the sigaret-lighter does heat up.
About a year ago, before these problems started, te remote controle for door locks stopped working. I don't know if this could be related?
When I change the fuse it blows after about a second.
I figures there might be a short in one of the "electronics" but I can't find which electronics are connected to fuse 17.
I have done some research on the internet and found some electrical schemes which lead me to the following instruments which could be connected to fuse 17:
- Speedometer;
- Odometer;
- Cooling temp meter;
- Tachometer;
- Fuel meter and sensor;
- Door locks and relais named "A94" on the electrical scheme.
To search if there would be a short somewhere I tried to disconnect the following instruments:
- Car instrument panel;
- Climate controle unit;
- Interior lights;
- Front-, and rear-, window heating buttons;
- Headlights switch;
- Clock;
- Radio (did not think this would affect anything but removed it to be sure).
This did not resolve the issue. A new 7.5A fuse did blow immediatly.
Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?
Or is there anyone who has some more electrical information of the car so i can further specify "Electronics"?

Hi & welcome
There have been instances of problems caused by wires shorting behind the cigarette lighter but whether any of them caused fuse 17 to blow I don't know.

Frank, The complete wiring diagrams & fuse information are available (Courtesy of Snoopy) in the 'How to do things' forum at the bottom of the 'General' page. They are in the 6th item down under 'WIRING DIAGRAMS'.
I have previously found them invaluable and you should be able to isolate any problem with them.
A note of caution: Your car is a very early model and it is quite likely that you have wiring short-circuits due to the poor insulation that was used on the looms.

I have a note in my file from 2008! which details that Fuse 17 covers all those items you mention in your first paragraph.
I cannot now go back to the entry concerned BUT I would suggest that you disconnect connections to any you can and see if that isolates the problem.

On the diagrams I can't see F17 mentioned with regard the locks.
Relays are usually K**
K94 is the start inhibit relay.
A94 is the seat memory module under the drivers seat.
