Have the door ajar light on the dash on, can I just disconnect the plunger on the door or is it a dash out job to fix bad board?

Not heard of it being a dash problem. It's not the plunger, it's a switch on the side of the lock.
My front passenger door has had the light on (again) for months - shows how much of a pain it is to do Roll Eyes

You don't have to do everything mentioned in this PDf about lock removal but it shows the switch:

It's best to disconnect the door connection plug or battery whilst you have your fingers in there - it is possible to trigger global closing/opening Shocked

Thanks for reply, had this on G saloon with the boot one showing on the dash, that burnt the dash out and look bad, will this do the same if not fixed as the symbol and red lights appear the same as then (1994 car that time)

 Thanks  Roy

I don't know, however I've just looked at a Granada one probably around '91. That has miniature filament bulbs whereas I think the Scorpio uses LED's. If the damage was caused by heat from the bulb then I would imagine the Scorpio would be OK.

With the door ajar light staying on you will probably find the indicators won't flash when you double lock the car. You may also find global closing doesn't work.

Thanks will check on that, the other car was M plate 2.9 saloon Granny - there I've said it now. Wink and the clocks certainly seemed to get warm in that instance, done the dash in completely before i sold it on.

Looked at the dash we took from pearns and went Roll Eyes

Just had a look at a stripped down Scorpio cluster & can confirm it's LED's for door ajar.

Hello, so this won't roast the dash like the granny did, or is there still some heat from a LED?
