PATS

Hi my name is Roberto and I am from Italy

 I have Scorpio 2.0 16V 1995.
The engine does not start. My mechanical thinks it could be the antitheft system as he found the fault code U1451.
Thanks.
Roberto

Sometimes code readers get the letter wrong I don't think there are U codes on the Scorpio. Possibly P1451 Lack of Response From Passive Anti-Theft System Module - Engine Disabled.
Codes are here:
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/codes.htm

The only post with that code I found was here with the same suggestion:

Thanks, Simmo e Tompion Smiley
To check if engine starts, my mechanic would like to disconnect alarm system and pats.
Do you think it would be possible to get PATS documentation?

Hi Roberto.
Have you tried a complete Battery disconnect and let her stand for a good hour or so?

Good luck

I don't think it's that simple, it's part of the PCM.
What happens with the dash light? When you turn on the ignition it should come on for 2 seconds & go out, if there's a problem you should get a code flashed.
