24v water leak

My 24v has developed a water leak which on first inspection seems to be coming from the hose that goes from the water pump to the thermostat.
Any advice on how difficult this is to replace. I do have a used one in my stash. How much has to be removed to get at the hose clips? (Stat end)
Need to be back on the road ASAP.
Any help much appreciated.

If you have aircon its in behind the compresso,r but I think if you unbolt it you can move it to get at the hose.

Is it necessary to first remove the compressor and then the bracket or just remove the bracket with compressor still attached? I cant see a way to remove the bottom rear bolt on the bracket without first removing the compressor.

I think it has to come off, I changed the thermostate and I removed it.

I suggest that you phone "Top Boss" in Derby. They made up this right angled hose for my Cossie a few years ago and its still going strong.
Their phone No is 01332 237406.
Have a look on page 8 of Give/Need advice on this forum and you will find my post under "Right angled coolant hose for 24 valve Cossie.
Maybe, better still, look at Simmo's post on the same page which gives you a "link"
The date of my post is 29/7/16. They will have a record of the work needed and hopefully can make up a hose for you there and then, which will save you having to send yours as a template

Just wish I had seen this before I fitted the used one. I may just get a new one from Top Boss as you suggest as a "just in case"
As you said easy once you remove the air con compressor and bracket. I am sure if I had to do it again it would take half the time.

Cured the water leak albeit with used hose. Took the car for a 8 mile run to get it warm and check water level. All OK.
Left the car on driveway for about 6 or 7 hours then went to put it in the garage started first time as always but pressing accelerator resulted in popping/backfiring and eventually stalled. Tried disconnecting the battery for a while but this made no difference. I am pretty sure I didn't undo anything that would cause this to happen. Am I missing something?
Urgent help/suggestions needed

Latest update unplugged the MAF and car would then run OK ish.
Swapped MAF for one I (think) is working (it was when I took it off years ago) Started engine with MAF unplugged and again ran reasonably well, just stationary didn't drive anywhere. Plugged MAF in and it spluttered, backfired a couple of times and then stalled. Will not run with MAF plugged in. Any more ideas please.

Is it OK to a 10 mile round trip with MAF unplugged. Hospital appointment 09-00 Tuesday. Don't want to do any damage.

The 2.3 runs fine without the MAF, I expect the 24v is the same.

Its not so much in the way as I thought but my plug lost contact , it looked to be still ok, worth pushing to see if it moves.

I think I have found the problem.
The small hose/trunking that fits on to the MAF had come away underneath but still looked OK from the top. I reconnected this and the engine ran perfectly. Took it for a short drive and all seemed fine. However about 2 miles from home I drive over a wooden swing bridge which crosses the canal and the run up to it is cobblestones (probably from the days of horses and carts) and the engine started misfiring and backfiring and was almost undriveable. I managed to limp home hazard lights flashing and sure enough this trunking hose had come off again at the bottom. I took the whole lot off and could see this hose had become really soft and didn't like being tightened. So while I seem to have found the problem I haven't really fixed it.as I think the first time I hit a bump in the road it will come off again.
So has anyone got a spare one in their stash. I would like the "concertina" one as well that fits in the same location.

With the 2.3 if the MAF is connected but not in the air intake it stalls every time you take your foot off & gear changes are really vicious so a major air leak upstream would be between the 2, presumably much the same on a 24v. Disconnecting the MAF should have solved it temporarily (assuming that's the only problem).
