Accessing ashtray bulb

Is there some way to access the bulb in the front ashtray without removing the fascia? My to me still new, showroom looking 2.9 Cossie Ghia-X estate is so near to having absolutely everything working I'm now obsessively chasing all the little things. (Thanks to posters here for the thread that told me where the glovebox bulb was and how to get at it!)

It's possible, quite fiddly to get it back - a bit of thin wood might help to push it back. It can trigger a warning bong if you short it but doesn't seem to matter but might be better to disconnect the battery. Lift out the ashtray & you'll see it through a hole alongside the cigar lighter - push the bulb holder down it should just slide out. Quite a short wire & you may be fiddling about for ages to get it back.

Aha. Right. I found an eBay ad for one (in Germany!) with lots of close up photos from every angle, and in the ones showing the underneath I was wondering if the bulb and holder just pushed down and out, but wasn't entirely sure and when a mild attempt didn't budge it at all I didn't want to try too hard. If it definitely does come out downwards I'll try harder. Thanks.
