Has anyone updated their Scorpio to include the DRL option?  This feature was standard on the Scandinavian models, so is it really as simple as inserting the relay (K5) and shorting bar into the central fuse box?

Which lens did they use, the foglamps with a lower voltage? It may well be, my modernish car has them sitting there just waiting to be enabled through the software

The DLRL was a feature fitted on the very early Scorpio and I know from personal experience the 12V version had them fitted. If you look at the wiring diagrams for the 12v you may be able to fathom it all out.
The version fitted used the dipped beam headlights for the dim DLR lamps and came on with the ignition they were about 50% of normal light from dipped.
Hope that helps

Does that suggest that if I simply put a relay into the original (blank for UK spec cars) slot, they should work?

I have a 1995 2.0L Ultima Estate.
Last year, I tried just adding the correct relay but it didn't work. After some time looking at the wiring diagrams, I gave up and settled for just using the switch in the side-light position which gives a dim-dip i.e. both low-beam headlights in series. This however, puts the rear lights on as well so I'd be interested if anybody can sort this one out.
