Wheel bearing query

Went away to Scotland for christmas and while there, the front wheel wheel bearings started droning quite bad. Put it into the only garage in area that had space and they couldnt do as obsolete. Had car recovered back to Surrey (22 hour ordeal!) and our local factors listed 3 companies that made, two have a different part number for each side but one firm lists same number for both sides. The only ones actually available are the ones that have same part number for each side but is this correct? Are front bearings same for each side? Car is 2.9 Cosworth if this makes a difference..

The front hub retaining nuts are L or R handed - suspect that is the reason for the 2 different part numbers from one of the manufacturers - the one which lists the same part number for both sides probably has both L & R handed nuts in the kit. Take a look here : https://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/suspension/FSuspWBearing.pdf Looks like a special tool is required to do the job so may be a trip to your local FMD or see if you can get a good used complete front hub.

They come as a kit, bearing, 2 circlips and nut. Ford numbers: 5030223 LH 5030224 RH As Mike says difference is the nut.
