Southern Area Meet

Hi all, Being relatively new to the Forums here, I wondered if there were ever any meets organised in the Surrey/Sussex/Kent/Hants/Wilts/Berks areas? I seem to be in a sad minority of Sussex 'Scorpiowners'... [OK, I know Herts isn't a million miles away - I might have even made it to yesterday's meet but I didn't spot it until Friday, so had other plans...] Cheers, N_H

Hi Nick, I'm in Sussex too, Crawley to be precise. As Simmo said you are not alone, maybe the three of us can get together for a drink sometime. Fitzy

Nick, I have a State Blue estate (cracked front bumper at present) and a big West Ham Badge in the rear window, not far from the Dorstein Pub. Fitzy

I'll look out for you, Fitzy. I used to live not far from there, but have now moved a few miles out of Crawley. I'm currently in an Aubergine Ghia saloon, but will hopefully have the new Tourmallard Ultima on the road within the next week or so... (Soon as the DVLA get their fingers out!) N_H

It is about an hour and a half for us too from North London I will definitely be bringing the new car along to the next one, that's if I can afford all that petrol it drinks (I got too used to the super economy van!) Ellie

| It most certainly will be and I will be there with my 2.3 Estate as well SNAP along with a fair few others. Do you know where the location is ?? its fairly easy to find but if you need help send me a PM and I will guide you in. Certainly there will be enough of us about who will be able to show you whats what and if required I will bring the laptop and OBD lead and see what we can suck out of its brains ChrisB

Hi ChrisB, There is a link in an earlier post that refers to the Black Dog, Waltham's Chase. It also includes the postcode, and I have SatNav so I should be able to find it. I used the Buyer's Guide from this site when I bought the car, but I missed out the bit about the gearbox. My auto fluid is a bit muddy, so I am getting worried - the car drives OK but am I in for a nasty shock? An OBD scan would be greatly appreciated.

I shouldnt worry tooooo much about the auto box at the moment, if its behaving it should be fine. Mine is a manual which a deliberatly choose due to peoples gearbox woos. I suspect a oil and filter clean will help it out, will explain at the meet. Will bring all the OBD stuff and we will see what it will offer us in codes etc , hopefully it will be clean. ChrisB

Dondon, if your box is running ok but the fluid is a bit dirty it may benefit from an oil and filter change (as ChrisB says) to keep it sweet. Our box was in the same position, driving ok but fluid a bit dirty, fluid and filter change worked wonders - much much smoother now! HTH
