Hope to make it! If it looks to be cold I'll put mine through the car wash this time to save simmo's hands getting chapped! Dave

looks like i'll have to miss this one; day off today so i thought i'd change the crank pulley, finally got everything stripped out, went to use my new flywheel puller and discovered the hardened steel middle bolt you use to 'spring' the pulley off is far too long, wont fit in the gap even if the rad is removed havent got a shorter one i can use and im at work the next 2 days, so it looks like i'll be under the car again sunday...........

its driving me mad mike, new pulley ready to go on, then everything brought to a halt because the pulley removal bolt is too long. i'll take it to work tomorrow and see if the engineers have got a shorter one.......

Another good meet with the usual suspects and lots of scorps with new badges. Had a beautiful Mk3 cossie next to me. (Trevor - did you get a piccy?) John (v4max) have you figured out what that spare piece of tubing was for . Pity Simmo didn't have any tools & carb cleaner we could've done your MAF - the boy's slipping (must be his age ) ... ... and interesting mods on Tompion's - you ought to post a few pix Dave. Got your new wheels on Phil? John's new 'uns look good don't they? Didn't notice much from the refurb - exept the car park gets full by 12.30 Cheers All, Paul

personally i think simmo planted it there for winding him up. certainly was puzling though. took wheels round to taliban all he needs now is a working car to put them on. he was shocked to find simmo had not cleaned them for him, thanks for the scan will have a go at that maff at the weekend and the spongy thing and the belt etc etc etc

Hi Paul Good to meet up with everyone, got back a lot quicker than expected so I could have hung on a bit longer. Just grabbed a picture of the luggage protector …. aka half a stacking chair. Dave

Sorry Paul, no pics of the mk3 i'm afraid. John, knowing that Simmo likes helping people with their problems etc so much, do you think he would help me fit a new kitchen? By the way, lovely wheels. Good meet with nice people. Kind regards to all. Trev.

You'll have to wait for the kitchen Trev - Simmos just had a bigger garage built to keep all his spare bits he keeps acquiring from the local scrappy.
