Commercial Parts Dealers
« on: Jan 11th, 2005, 11:57pm »

As you know we have restricted the forum to non-commercial parts only.

We do want to still encourage commercial parts dealers in both new and secondhand parts and so we are about to launch a new service which will provide each dealer with their own listing page where they can advertise parts for sale, along with photos, quantities, prices etc and will include an enquiry form etc

They can update their listings at any time using their own password and no programming skills will be needed. Their page will be linked to from the forums and main web site.

We will be making a charge of £200 per year for the service which will help towards the cost of running this site (many thanks for all the voluntary contributions from everyone by the way - it really helps).

The system is up and working at http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/traders.htm

Hope everyone finds the new service helpful.

Regards

OK, the new pages and database are now up and I've put some items in there as a demonstration - it's very easy to use.

Go to http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/traders.htm and you will see a list of dealers down the left and categories down the right.

By clicking on a dealer you can see lists of everything they sell with description, a photo (click to enlarge) and a price. They can also add the FMC part number if they want to put in the effort. Click the part number to send a message to the dealer about it.

Dealers can edit their lists at any time using a very simple set of pages.

This costs the dealer 200 quid a year and anyone who is serious about selling parts whould see the benefits - it's probably far less than the Ebay charges that they pay.

If it takes off then I will also add a search facility.

Regards
