Have a look at this EBay auction for a dimming interior mirror and after gasping at the 50 quid he wants for it, read the description about how the dipping mirror works.....and then post your comments here!! Particularly the dashboard light sensor!! Baz

Nope, I don't buy that it's an April Fool for one moment... Besides, it was listed at 8.30pm and by the "rules" of April Fool's Day, anything after midday is invalid. N_H

hey chaps.....he may be banned from the forum, so now he has hijacked our local rag and waffling on the readers letter page AAAHHHHHHHHH is there no hiding No mains power EARLY last Friday as my wife and I sat enjoying our first coffee of the day a strident voice was heard coming from downstairs. Standing on the landing we heard it mechanically repeating ... "There is no mains power!" It came from the community care alarm system telephone. Ah well, I said, no showers today, we're all electric in this house. I wondered how all the youngsters of today would be able to cope without their push button gadgetry now available. "They would not know how to trim the wick of a paraffin lamp," I suggested. "Nor would they know how to change the mantle on a gaslight" my wife contributed, disappearing downstairs and calling up, "The fridge light is off!" (There is no mains power!). "And the microwave clock has stopped!" (There is no mains power!). Lowering the footrest and seat of my chair lift I clambered aboard, pressed hard down on the descend button and waited for the delayed action to kick in. My wife said I'm sick of hearing this thing (There is no mains power!). "So am I" I replied. "The kids these days have never even heard of a poss stick! and what the hell is wrong with this contraption? It isn't even moving!" (There is no mains power!!) Query? ... is that why the younger generations of today think that we senior citizens our age are something called "senile"! The Admiral, Tunstall Hill, Sunderland

That must be the first copy of the Sunderland Echo you have ever bought tightwad. Unlike myself, I bought every North east paper today, cut out the pictures of Mr Dyer & Mr Bowyer, and posted them to all the geordies at work. The letter just read, "Lets all Laugh at Newcastle" Happy, happy man Nic

As you work for the government, and I use the word work loosley, am I to assume you read this at work, during the hours of 9.30-4.10, normal office hours. About time you realised Work means WORK, lazy workshy fop. By the way Im back to work in the morning, 1st full day in since the 29th.
