Hi DJ. At the risk of sounding a little harsh, the bits that are missing are the bits that usually sell!! Load covers go for around £30-£35 Radio/changers about £100 the Cosworth engine anything up to £500 in some cases.

The other bits are pretty much run of the mill. Estate rear lights are very common due to them being the same as the old granada ones, cloth interiors do not usually sell at all. If it has 12 spoke alloys, these may raise a few quid and the front headlamps/fog lamps can get £35-£45 and £15-£25 respectively.

Bonnet and grille sell but again, the later facelift ones are favourites. I recently paid £10.00 for the whole dash including switches vents and ashtray so not much to be got there either.

Hope this helps

Thanks Baz, what about the new radiator and auto gearbox then?  Not to mention the engine wiring harness!
If it is as bleak as you say Baz then looks like another car for the crusher/scrap-yard then!

DJ,

your "new" radiator is now technically secondhand and I believe Fordparts are doing the cosworth radiator for about £300 although there was one sold on Ebay still in the box a few months ago for about £150 (just missed that one!!)

As for anything else....well if I neded a wiring harness to get my car on the road, yours would be a lifeline and I would pay top dollar to get it....if I only wanted it for a just in case scenario, it may be worth £20-£30 to sit in the garage until it is found again 3 years after I've sold the Scorpio!!

If someone wants things, they will pay the money, otherwise you will get something, but exactly how much depends on how many people want them. Stick them on EBay on a 10 day auction (to get the most viewers) and see how you get on. Becareful of describing them as "new" if they have already been on the car (nearly new does the trick!)

Granted, the radiator is 'nearly new' as you correctly state,  it has 11 miles on it for the record with no overheating or oil contamination.
If the resale values of the parts are so low then personally I don't have the inclination to advertise them on ebay.  If there are no takers here where I presume there is 100% interest in the Scorpio model then the car will have to be scrapped.
Too many ebay wasters out there for me to be messing around with car parts.

Hi DJWerkz

Well a couple of years ago there was a bit of money in Scorpio bits but now everybody seems to have bits for them. If you can hold on to it then sell the odd bit now & then you could make £500 - £600 even without the engine but it sounds like you can't do that. A scrapy may give you £30 for it as there is some money in scrap at the mo but I would put it on ebay as it is.
You should get over £100 for it or take the best bits off & let the scrapy have most of it. Then sell the best bits.

Problem is, I'm disabled with chronic back problems and M.E. to boot so I can't be doing anything with the car myself.
My brother-in-law who has the car has now decided to get out of the motor vehicle business and is spending alot of time in Manchester on his new working project (car is in Luton).
I would have liked to have put it back on the road but due to being let down by individuals etc. I have been backed into a corner I see no way of getting out of Sad

Just pulled the CD changer for a forum member so this looks like it will be going.  Another member has also enquired about the gearbox, so that may go also, but everything else still available.

Hi there, I am looking for a Sunroof motor assembly, is there one available off your motor. The drive cog is broken on mine.
Thanks, GR.
