2.3 16v dohc engine 1997 (96k miles)

Engine for sale 96k good running order! £120 I thought it had a blown head gasket as per my other thread but having tested it at the weekend it's only the thermostat not opening that's causing it to dump the contents of it's expansion bottle. New thermostat fitted and it now perfick. Will be removed from car tomorrow so collect any time after that. Interested then pm me Thanks

Hi, I'm Aleksandra from Sarajevo, can you help me, please ?? I have the same problems with my Baby...Thermostat housing...The same thing it is hapenig, shold I try to change the thermastat as you did? Or try something else? Here in Sarajevo we have problems with parts...We have a Ford dealer but any part I have ask IT IS 600 EUROS!!! PLEASE HELP!

Hello Aleksandra. The cheap way around it would be to remove the thermostst, then just replace the cover. Top up the system, run engine & bleed system (first of all with heda tank cap off). Good luck Ghia-x.
