Cost of parts.

I have just replaced the 'link arms' on my car. I requested a price from my local Ford dealer and was advised that they were£52-36 each!. I checked out Fordparts UK who wanted £82 for a pair. Each price had to have VAT added. I contacted my local factor EBC who provided me with a pair from This firm for the grand sum of £35-63 including Vat. Incidentally anyone thinking of replacing the anti-roll bar bushes should be aware that Ford have changed the shape of the bushes so they now need the brackets that match them. The set was £17-68.

I had a similar experience with parts for my P100 diesel pickup. Fuel filter housing:- ford £135, fordpartsuk £121, local factors £14.10! Steering rack quotes:-Ford £100+( I forget the exact price) Same local factors just over £20, another local factor just over £10! What do Ford do- chuck the numbers up in the air and see what comes down? PS. Simmo - do you mean track control arms? Same items for P100 (Sierra)£7.50 each! + vat of course.... Incidentally it was when I was at the factors that I saw an immaculate Scorp A3 J*X. Anybody on here?

You don't have to be mad to own a Scorp - but it helps!
