Breaking my 24v Manual Cosworth with fully rebuilt

Hi everyone, With an impending move to London coming up I find myself no longer needing a car. Having lavished a small fortune on my 1998 Cossie Scorp I doubt I'll see much of it back on the car as a whole so have decided to break it. The engine was completely overhauled during late 2010/early 2011 at a cost of £1349 (receipts kept) for parts alone and has covered just shy of 6000 miles since then. The crank was in tip-top condition so thankfully no re-grind was necessary. Just new mains, big ends and shells were needed. The block was mint with no wear in the bores but I replaced the rings anyway. Both heads were relapped and polished up a little bit while new chains and chain guides were also replaced. Even though what came off was in good condition, I still replaced everything. While doing the engine, I coverted it to manual and it runs with a 2.5TD MT75 gearbox (also overhauled when I had the bellhousing changed with the Sierra V6 to fit) and a brand new clutch and hydraulic clutch cylinder too. Matt was kind enough to help me with the wiring so he knows the car. I did the usual 1000 mile bed in period, changed the oil and the car runs on 10-40w semi synthetic Magnatec and had a service just a few hundred miles ago. at 1800 miles I zipped it over to Superchips for a tune up just to make sure it was on the button. It starts everytime, doesn't miss a beat and wants for nothing in terms of oil and coolant, power steering fluid, brake/clutch fluid and since the rebuild I've run it on Super Unleaded only. The car is in pretty good condition for its age although the heater blower control module for the climate control has started playing up somewhat now. That said, when the heater control itself started having issues, I managed to locate a brand new replacement along with a brand new SATC module as well. Being a 1998 model it has the late front end and rear lights and being an ulitma is fully loaded with everything eletrical working as it should. The tyres are like new on it still and the alloys buff up nicely and although have the usual sracthes and slight scuffs which I would expect for 14 year old car. The interior looks good for the year and I have treated the leather frequently with Liquid Leather to keep it supple. Also, I didn't fancy the wood trim very much so all the trim was removed, primered and sprayed in silver to match the car. Before I list it on eBay I figured I'd give everyone on here a headstart for parts so any quesions or parts required, please do drop me a line. I've managed to upload pictures here at www.bedfordob.com/scorpio/index.html Thanks, Marcello

Looks too good to break If you really do break it, I would be interested in the wheels and dipping mirror. Thanks Tony

your ebay listing is very misleading..... it looks as if you are selling the complete car as there is no mention of it being broken until the last few words.... Even the title does not mention that the car is for breaking... Careful you don't end up with negative feedback when you try and charge the current high bidder over £100.00 for a wheelnut!

Hi Baz, Thanks for the message. The very first line above where it starts 'Hi Everyone' states the following "Breaking my 24v manual Cosworth with fully rebuilt engine" and every person who has placed a bid is aware of the fact I am breaking the car as I have sent messages to explain. The ad expires tomorrow and the car is now in pieces so each item will now be advertised individually.

Well that's a shame, I was going to buy the whole car if you'd have listed it complete

Hi Glen, I take it you are referring to the the modules in the wiring loom? If so, I still have both buried under a mountain of wires although I'm pretty sure they do differ between the years. Hopefully one of the others might be able to shed some light on this.

Marc it sits under the abs pump on the off side wing cossie to cossie it should be the same but it may not swap over to a smaller engined car as im sure the rear brake system is dual on a cossie but single on others

Hi all, well the bulk of the car has now gone. I have an assortment of bits left including the wheels complete with tyres, the door glass for all four doors, the complete leather interior including centre console and dash (no clocks), roof lining, electric mirrors both sides, all four electric window motors, various switches, a complete wiring loom (not cut anywhere whatsoever when removed) along with an assortment of other stuff. I need the space so it all has to go as a job lot so before I advertise on eBay and other local press publications, I thought I would offer out on here for £200 all in. Please note it all has to go and ideally the sooner the better so I won't be open to offers for bits and pieces sorry to say. If anyone is interested then feel free to drop me a line. Many thanks.
