hi neil, i´m sorry i got no engine for you. but please allow me a question how is your´s gone? I´m interested in this cause I have really often dead, that these engine are broken. I can imagine that they are not able to survive full speed on the motorway. Thanks for your answering and good luck! achim

The history of the car is I bought it from ebay with a blown head gasket. I stripped the engine down and had the heads tested and ended up having to replace one of them. All was fine until 2 weeks ago until the engine started to knock. I have finally just got around to stripping the engine down to find No. 4 big end shell has spun inside the con rod. The crank is at the engineering firm we use at work to be reground so hopefully the bus will be back on the road by next weekend. If I can be arsed putting it back together! But after spending all day fixing bloody Landrovers, the last thing I want to do is repair my own car! I think the cause for the failure is low oil pressure or poor oil quality. The funny thing is it was No. 4 cylinder head that failed aswell. So there may be a link there.
