Anyone breaking a 24v?

Hello all,
 
I've just had my 24v diagnosed by a local engine management specialist, as the engine was not running correctly.
 
He has diagnosed that: the cats are OK, but that the front lambda sensor on the passenger side is faulty (its situated just below the engine, and also that the exhaust back pressure differential monitor is not working properly - I don't know its proper name, its the small box that sits in the engine compartment at the top of the bulkhead on the drivers side and compares the back pressures of the two exhausts.
 
I have been quoted (by Ford) £250 for the lambda sensor and £85 for the back pressure monitor - plus VAT of course, not to forget the labour charge.  Looks like a total bill of over £400, which I simply cannot afford!
 
Has anyone got a good lambda sensor and back pressure differential monitor they will sell me?

you can use a 4 wire universal sensor (just have to re-use the plug) from here...

I am in the proces of breaking my Cossie at the moment, I will have a look for the Exhaust monitor on my car for you.
If i can identify it Ok you can have it fo £20.

An interesting development occurred regarding these problems.
 
My car was diagnosed last Thursday.  He 'phoned me Saturday morning to say that on Friday he had had a Mondeo in with very similar problems, and had discovered that the EGR valve was sticking open.  Disconnecting the vacuum pipe had solved the problem.  He said to pop my car over to see if this was my problem - and it was!
 
With the EGR vacuum pipe disconnected my car now runs perfectly.  He reckons EGR is not good anyway as it gunges up the engine and intake bits, and always disconnects it from any car he has.  He says that this does not affect the performance of the engine, and it certainly has not affected mine - apart from curing the problem.  It seems this was causing the diagnosis to flag up false errors.
 
The problem I had was surging on light throttle between about 30 to 50 mph, unstable idling when first starting the car, hesitation when pulling away, and poor mpg.  Disconnecting the EGR cured all these problems.
 
This car has been an absolute pup since I bought it, there always seems to be something wrong, and always expensive.  I was overdue for a cheap solution - or at least by bank account was.
 
I had made up my mind to get rid of the car, but I'll hang on to it now for a bit as it's running really well and having spends thousands on it (literally!) in the last 12 months.
