Saloon Roof Rack...Genuine Ford

Hi all,
I have decided I want to stick a roof box on the car when we go to the South of France next month. Does anyone have a genuine set of Ford roof bars for a saloon they want to sell?
I can collect or will pay for postage obviously

Thanks for that Craig, but I would really like a genuine set as the aftermarket ones are like a lego kit with all sorts of bits like feet and locking kits which are just dying to be lost!!

i was going to suggest that. imo, you can't beat the ford ones. also they can handle 75kg.

no, the roof bars can handle the 75kg. i think most boxes can take 50kg (maybe a little more).

Ford used to do roofboxes called "combi boxes" according to the 1996 accessories catalogue I have. Not sure about now though. Although looking at the pictures, they were just Thule boxes without the logos!

Got my rack from Trevor at Ford Parts....fits a treat although I saw no need to cut out the rubber bit on the door seal as the fixing bolt merely pushes it out slightly
Definately better and a lot cheaper than a thule system which appears to be made up of dozens of different bits each costing £20 or more!!

Managed to get a Thule Evo 100 box. 350 litre capacity and at half price £169.00 from Halfords.

How much did the roof bars set you back? Been thinking about a roof box for sometime now-this camping mallarky is getting beyond a joke! The OH thinks she can take her whole wardrobe and half her shoe collection (well over 50 pairs to date!!!!) as she "Likes to have a good selection and look good for me".
