I kept wondering what I was missing on my fuel filler cap that cause dit to keep swinging open freely. Afet seeing another members car over the weekend I found that I am missing a small metal clip that clips behind the hinge of the fuel filler cap. Can anyone help me out with a spare clip please?

DJ. I looked a several scorps today and the 'clip' you describe seems to be an integral part of the housing around the neck of the tank. It is certainly held by a shaft of some sort and not readlily detachable. If anyone can indicate how the thing is accessed in order to remove it (without removing the rest of the car!!) I may be able to help if Dave can't.

I looked at my car today and it looks as though there are a couple of grooves/tracks that the clip may slide into but as I am missing my clip altogether I have no way of telling for sure how it is attached. Can the insert section be replaced if you can not change just the clip?

Hi Craig I have just removed the clip, it just slides into the grooves, but there should also be large tag in between the two grooves and this is what helps hold it in place. Not particularly easy to get out, but should be fairly easy to fit. I don't think I've got your address, so if you want to pm me with it, I will post the clip to you. Dave

Thanks to Mummra for providing me with the small metal clip, this has fixed the problem. The clip does indeed slide into a couple of tracks at the furthest inside right position behind the exterior fuel flap. You could easily miss these tracks if you are missing your metal clip as on initial inspection it might look like there is nothing there.
