Mine weeps a bit of water now & then, decided to leave it for the time being (not got any worse in the last 5000 mls).

I think paying that sort of money for a plastic manifold that's probably just as old as your own is a big risk. You've got no control over how it's removed unless they let you do it. If they've got the engine out it could easily of had a knock & got damaged.

I had a quote from fordpartsuk in June (not inc. VAT, P&P):

Scorpio(4DR) 2.3DOHC-Inlet Manifold
Part Number:   1024327(QTY1)
Retail Price:     £210.10
You Pay:    £178.58
Scorpio(4DR) 2.3DOHC-Inlet Manifold Gaskets
Part Number:   1019046(QTY4)
Retail Price:     £3.73 each
You Pay:    £3.17each
Scorpio(4DR) 2.3DOHC- By Pass Valve -Inlet Manifold Gasket
Part Number:   7090339(QTY1)
Retail Price:     £1.23
You Pay:    £1.11
Scorpio(4DR) 2.3DOHC-Throttle Body-Inlet Manifold Gasket
Part Number:   7090340(QTY(QTY1)
Retail Price:     £2.16
You Pay:    £1.94

I bought the gaskets, intending to have a look & see just what the problem is, but haven't got round to it yet.

I repaired mine with 'Quick Steel' a few months back & it is still holding fine.
£6.99 from local motor factors. Make sure the manifold is nice & dry with no antifreeze residue on it, then you can get on with the bodge job Grin

When I bought mine, all gaskets were with it. £230 about two years ago from main dealer.
