Resistor wanted. I don't know if it is the same on the a/c c/c non-a/c models but I would guess it is.
 
It's located underneath a 10x5x3cm (approx) cover on top of the heater unit behind the bulk head. Consists of three resistance wire coils and a thermal fuse.

I think this might be a HBC. Look at the first picture Here. I have seen one looking as you describe but the most common ones are a different design and I don't know if they are 'exchangeable'. If you go to the links on the left of the page,click on, 'Test the HBC' and you'll see what I mean.

Yes, that's the one. Looks exactly the same on my non-a/c. Would make sense as it only controls the fan speed. Does anyone have a working one?  Smiley
