Set of high end clocks for a 2.9 Ultima

Hi Folks,

This is following on from some electrical problems that I am having.

My speedo packed in yesterday, linked to a reoccurence of  ampage drain and cruise control light coming on even though not selected and switch disconnected.

To cap it all last night come out of a meeting to find my rear lights on but the switch off. It has been with an autoelectrician since this morning and they have just rung me to tell me they suspect the instrument cluster.

Anybody got a working cluster for a 2.9 12 valve Ultima?

Geoff, get them to check the fag lighter wiring behind the draw, the light terminal tends top break off & drop down onto the lighter power lead, causes similar problem, took me ages to find first time.

Thanks Martin, just had a phone call, apparently with the instrument cluster removed from the car the problem repeated and there was still a drain and lights coming on. They then discovered that whilst the top of the auxiliary fuse box was bone dry there were seals and penguins swimming around underneath.

Dried out and all the problems went away. They are keeping it for observation through the day, I should have it back this evening.

So I think this is a stand down on the clocks front or at least for the moment.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had to nudge this up as fusebox did not fix things and in fact there were about 30 wires in the loom which were bio-degrading.

Having fixed the wiring faults more on which to follow, the instrument pod was taken out and replaced and in the process I have lost odometer and right hand lcd diagnostic functions, the reset button is stuck solid. Nice electricians say they will replace if I can source one.

So I still need a working cluster for a 2.9 12 valve Ultima.
