Thanks gents....presumably if I ask for the 2.5TD engine it will be enough to identify - or do I say "VM"? Will this mean anything to the man on the parts counter?

If you say "the 2.5 td VM engine" i'm sure it'll give them a little bit extra to go on. He (or even a she...) may possibly say "so is that a Peugeot engine" and as far as im aware VM made a similar engine for peugeot in the 80's but i couldnt be 100% sure as to whether its similar in any way so all i'd say is no its the italian 2.5 engine which seems to be enough. If you tap in 'VM Engine Specialist' into google it should come up a link to a place that specialises in VM's, they might be able to help you out. Matt

Also forgot to mention that Rimmers do an alternative to the alternator belt which they say is as good as the original (£46) at £8. We shall see what it looks like...

Hi Mike, just got my parts today. Obviously belt is too thin and will have to return - I'm hoping the seal is correct...60mm od, 53mmid,19mm deep. Does this sound right? May need yours depending on what Rimmers say. Thanks
