There's usually some on ebay - Mk3 Granada estate ones are the same and came with the car - I think Scorpio owners had to buy them separately.

You might want to double check that mk3 bars fit. I had a set which phisically fitted the roof bars but werent a perfect fit. They just didnt look quite right. As Mike said E bay is your best bet. I picked up a set for my previous estate in the moulded foam tray for just £20

Granada ones dont fit... You can tighten them up solidly enough but they dont sit correctly. the rails seem to be upside down compared to the Granada, if you fit the Granada clamps upside down to the Scorpio rails they fit perfectly!

They are marked "Scorpio" with a 93 part number, i think this is what causes the confusion

| I always though that Ford part numbers started with the year of original manufacture - so a 93 prefix would imply the part was first made in 1993...and the Scorpio did not appear till 1995 Or have I got that wrong

| Ah ! So that would be referring to 'our' Mk3 Granada - aka the European Scorpio, the estate version of which only appeared around 1993.

I fell for the same thing, bought a set off the bay for a Scorpio, to my dismay they were the wrong type of clamp and the torx bolt was to short to meet the thread on the lower half when trying to fit them, overcame that by using a slightly longer bolt, still a tiny gap though in the clamp between the rail and bar when fully tightened up. Don't know why but my foam storage tray (next to spare wheel) has a short slot for the bars, did Ford make roof bars that were adjustable length wise ? Stuart: would you like a pic of my foam tray ?

I've got the one for the estate beside the spare wheel, is there a different one for the bars?

On the mk3 estate the roof bars fitted across the top of the spare wheel well - there were foam mouldings in 2 of the corners - can't recall which ones though. The Mk3 estate also had steel covers on the spare wheel well and the storage area whereas our Scorpio estate has a fibreboard cover. I asked before if anyone had retro-fitted the steel covers but don't recall any replies - just wondered if it was possible before trying to get hold of a set. The roof bars I have were from my Mk3 estate - I've never tried fitting them to the Scorpio though. I kept them because when I checked the Scorpio I was buying there were no roof bars and I assumed they were the same

| Mine has recessed areas for 4 short roof bars - 4 clamps - 1 torx key - 4 locking wheel nuts + key - 2 square recess's for I dont know what, probably sets of spanners & screwdrivers.

Just browsing http://www.elcats.ru - roof rail kit 5010158 is listed as being for 02/1985-07/1998 4 Door Estate With Integrated Roof Rack. Odd since the Mk3 estate didn't appear untill 1992 The mystery deepens...
