Hi here again another part as it the dust i need a new trip switch mine only works now and again so when the needles do there usual trick bounce over on start not all the while but when it dose everything reverts to default metric strange in it self u think it would be miles, but there u go would appreciate it if some body ha dgot one for sale, dave

If the needles are doing "their usual trick" of dancing all over the place, you may also have a dodgy battery that needs addressing as well as a dodgy switch.....

If the needles flick & everything resets & returns to metric on start up, then I agree with Baz....you probably have a failing battery  Smiley

i replaced the battery brand new thinking that would stop the needles bouncing, a couple of months ago it was supposed to be the bees nees never stopped it so i read i thread on here saying if i waited for the self test to finish then start the car it would stop the bouncing, it dose some times but i give in on that one, hence if i can get a switch that will work i can just change the read out, dave

Check the charge rate, it should be 13.8/ 14.0 volts with the engine running.
