Hi Folks. Does anyone know if anyone supplies a replacement rear crossmember(estate) or is it a case of the welder fabricating one? Thanks, Pat.

pat.
The estate rear crossmember LOOKS the same as the saloon, you do mean the bit with all the cutouts in behind the bumper do you ? if so I reckon it would be easier to replate your own.Estates do appear to suffer from rot in that area more than saloons for some reason.

Hi guys. Thanks for replying. Can't see any cutouts in it from underneath. It's the rear chassis section which joins the n/s and o/s longitudinal chassis rails. It looks a simple enough section - for a welder or metal worker anyway. Anything's easy if somebody else is doing it!

UPDATE. Thanks for the input guys but the welder has just been and it's not worth having it done. The cross member alone would be £150+even if the rest of the back end withstood the vibration.  The underside is generally pretty ropey so along with other work it 's a non-starter as I can get £200 scrap. So - close to being Scorpless.
