Hi all Scorpio lovers.

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/eecvlooms.htm

I need the loom from the lower right picture from the link ... it must be in good or even better in very good shape .... the one from the scorpio i bought half year ago is defective ... and the mechanic where the car is says its the best to not cut or replace the wires from the loom because they are sensor wires ... i know nothing about that so is that correct or Huh!?

I need it very urgently !!!!

so you say the loom is not some special signal wires like mine mechanic says , that they are hard to buy or too much expensive .

i have time so i can rewire them if the wires i need can be bought at electronics store , if any got info about store please send it .

I am from Europe , Croatia so have that in mind also

howke.
Seldom is there a problem with the wires unless they have been on fire, all you need to do is insulate them, which I have done several times without problems,as Highlander says it IS very time consuming but very satisfying when finished.

Use proper electricians tape from an electrical factor,do not consider the sub standard 'motorists' stuff ,it's about 13mm wide and black.Whether or not the loom is causing your shift problem is debatable.

The tape is plastic,PVC in fact,it may soften when hot but hardens when cool.
I cannot believe that there is no insulating tape in Croatia !!!

Insulating Tape.

hehehehe ok guys i know how it looks ... i can buy those tape on almost every gas station , electric store etc ... but the question is if it is not good quality and tape melts especially on summer ... temps here can reach 35°c in shade and engine heat hmmm that what worrys me , and to get down the gearbox its not a cheap work .

OK i will go to the best electric store and buy the best tape .

Progress will be on this topic .

Thanks for all your help so far  Smiley

You may have a problem with the connectors. They may LOOK the same but not be suitable. If you can retain the old connectors by joining the new wires cloe to the connectors that may be the answer.
