Pumice Front Windscreen vent

Hi,

When I bought my car last year it had a small crack on the front windscreen vent, well over time that's got worse until it is completely broken, so I'm looking for a new one without any damage in Pumice colour.

Not quite sure how easy it will be to remove the PATS light which is in the centre of the vent. Anybody done this and is it easy?

Cheer,

Simon

hi there

the 'light' is just a cap that will pop off.

the hardest bit will be getting the part in the correct colour! Wink

Yes I did think I might struggle a bit as most cars seem to be in Raven.

I much prefer Pumice and this was the colour in my old Mk1 Mondeo Ghia X

Are you still in need? I've got a pumice interior 24v estate so if you can help with advice on removal I can retrieve my one. I'm assuming you mean the long narrow strip at the bottom of the windscreen.
Thing is, I'm in Woking, where are you? What chance of this surviving the post? Could put it in a tube of plastic pipe I spose...

If you look at This page and scroll down to item 6 it looks as if the part simply prises out ??.

Jeff, I have recently installed a pumice interior into my car. Seeing your post, I was wondering if you have the push-in screw covers available please. Lee

Yes it does, but if mine's anything to go by chances are the plastic lugs will break off. Sad

Looks like it's a pop out job, but yes, I'd bet me bottom dollar the rivets wil have hardened and will break.
I'll try at the weekend and see how lucky I am.

Lee, yes I'll harvest some covers for you. Any particular ones required? Send me your address and I'll post 'em.

Just a thought. Would it be possible to GENTLY warm the rivets with say a hairdryer or even a hot rag before attempting to remove them?. As with most things plastic a liitle gentle warmth may ease the fitting.  Smiley

Sorry guys,

Not been on for a few days, but yes I am still in need of a windscreen vent in pumice if someone on here has a spare for me?
I expect these parts usual gets scrapped with car?

From what I can see the part seems to clip into place.

Cheers,

Simon

P.S I don't break mine, the previous owner removed a mobile phone system and they crack it when removing it. Over time with temperature the crack has  got worse till looks really bad Sad
