Im looking for a pump too!! Mine is leaking out of that little hole. Quite a lot of water is coming out so can drive the car. I cant afford the new part, i think ford are asking for £230 or somthing like that. Please let me know if anyone has a working second hand one. If anyone repairs them they can have my old one  Smiley

hi,

yeah, ive had a read through. I've sent GSF an email and i've also sent a couple of members emails as they have said the water pump can be repaired. my engine also seems to be leaking from the thermostat area. would a dead pump cause presure to build up and force water out of here or is that an issue as well. I think i'll replace the pump first and then see if i have any other leaks!! oh cars are such fun!

There is a silly bypass hose going up from the thermostat through the front of the head to a water rail in the V between the heads. They are difficult to come by and a pain to change.Dave 2302 has a cunning plan to do away with the system.

I've emailed about the water pump!

I've just been on the phone to Ford and they can supply me with the hose. It is a very silly place to put a hose indeed. I'm not sure i want to modify the engine much more as at the moment it is a mix of BOB cosworth and BOA. To get it to fit in the cortina and to work around the PATS system i have had to use a lot of BOA parts. My Cortina is now made out of approximately 4 models of ford  Shocked

Things are slowly coming together now. I cant wait to take her out on the road to see how see drives. Its had all new polly bushes and GAZ adjustable shocks so should handle much better than the original carotina and of course she has the BOB lump, ummmmmmm. Induction kit arrived today in the post too!
