Boot gas strut

OK thanks. It's weird, in the cooler weather it become more rigid and stays up. Also if you pump it a few times it can hold up. I said to the Wife, Wife, I said, it IS common and it must happen to many others. Anyway I've promised her a BBC, a big black cartridge, as a replacement.

I'm getting confused, is this an estate not a saloon? Only on the saloon it's the springs that hold the lid up, not the dampers
