Can you just clarify what type you have?. Have a look at This page which shows the HBC as fitted to cars with Climate Control. Also check out the 'button' on the left marked Thermal Fuse. This unit is fitted to cars with A/Con. From your post I think it may be the latter in which case there is a simple fix.
