The shocker from a motor factor not serious money,may be £25,suspension ball joint is part of the 'wishbone' arm,currently in the UK only available via Ford,not cheap of course,asking in 'parts wanted' for a good used one is the right move,they are about.

Have a read of This page. Check out the one re estate shock absorbers and the link in reply 19.
As Gozz says you'll need to replace the wishbone and the problems/details about that are also on the same page.
