These auto boxes were fitted to the 2.9 12v. Not the 2.0/2.3 or 24v Thanks Adam.

Adam. There is an A4LDe here which I removed from a P reg 12v limo,it wouldn't change into a low gear when approaching a roundabout unless either the vehicle stopped or it was driven like a manual by the stick, otherwise it was OK,no noises or other malfunctions. If you would care to collect and as Dave says, get it rebuilt, you are very welcome to it for a few quid to the site. GOZZ.

Thanks Gozz. That's a very kind offer. It is a coincidence that the one in my diesel auto estate behaves the same. Mine also fails to change up and does "slip" at will. Reverse takes more than 5 seconds to engage. Oil is spotless and correct method used to check level. Thanks for the offer Gozz. I hope to find a good A4LDe that doesn't require a rebuild. Adam

Rightho Adam,I would personally never fit an autobox that hadn't been to the 'doctor',even long periods of inactivity can cause problems, and you end up wondering why you fitted the unknown GOZZ.

Yes, Gozz i agree. Time is a factor and i could do with a fully operational box whilst my original is in for repairs. Thank you for your help and advice.
