I think there are three diferent types, 1 prefacelift and 2 facelift. People will need the year etc if they can help you.

Correct. The bumper shapes are slightly different and the tops are contoured accordingly. In addition to being "as rare as hen's teeth'

Many moons ago when this subject cropped up someone did manage to fabricate a washer cover. IIRC the material was cut from a video cassette case and moulded by warming with a warm air gun/hairdryer?. Maybe Tompion will remember!  or even have a better 'bodge' up his sleeve

I can laser cut 3mm acrylic but it won't cut a taper if it helps

The alternative looks like fitting a pair from some other vehicle. The ones on the Freelander 2 look like they may fit with a bit of additional work and seem to be quite reasonable we shall see.
