1995 24 valve Auto Box Link Rod

Has anyone got one of the above in good condition?

The rod on my car is bent, I have no idea as to how this has happened or how long ago  Undecided.  It has rust on it so I am a bit wary of it.  I don't want to have it snap and be left with no gears.

In hopes

What does this rod look like ?
Somewhere I have a part in the spares stash which I think is this rod - if you get what I mean.
From memory it is about 15-20cm long and has a ball connector at each end - it this what you are looking for ?

Good Morning all  Smiley. And a Happy New Year to you.

Sounds about right Mike.  I got in contact with an Auto box specialist in Bristol. He said that the rod is not bent but is supposed to be cranked at one end, at the side of the Gearbox.  He said to give his  phone No. to my local garage and he would explain to him how to proceed.  I complied and am waiting to hear from my Garage.

Is the Rod supposed to be "Cranked"?

I'm fairly sure the rod I have is straight, not cranked.
Always thought there were 2 rods in the selector linked via a pivoting gadget on the side of the transmission ?

There are 2 rods, the one Mike referred to I think is straight, the long adjustable one that links to the gearstick is cranked.

Thank you  Smiley

Dave the link you gave me is great. If you look at job 27 the rod I am looking for is not the selector rod arrowed but the straight bar with a ball joint that is shown underneath.

That is the one I am after Dave/Mike and of course Simmo    Smiley.  I took my other Cossie to my local garage, Roger. to compare and there it was, straight as a die with 2 ball joints Smiley Cool Kiss.

So, who wants to sell one to me, please.  Mike?  Yours sounds as though it is to hand.

Good morning all, especially Mike, supplier of my Link Rod.

Having been away all last week I took The Beast to my local garage man to get the part fitted.  A few hours later I checked up on the progress only to be told that the Link Rod was too long (my fault Mike, not yours) and that they had tried to straighten the bent one, which unfortunately broke  Undecided. But not to worry as they had managed to weld and sleeve it. So happiness and "BEASTiness reign once again.
