Sunroof probs.

Hello all, i have a problem with my sunroof. When i bought my Scorp i was told the roof does not work on the switch which was correct. On doing the global opening and closing i noticed the roof moved just a tad in both directions so i thought it's not the motor! Seems that the roof has not been used for some time so managed to move it on the switch a bit at a time but now the ruddy nylon cog has been stripped, is there a supply of said cogs? Also is there one of the handles available so i can work the roof to loosen it a bit? Sorry it's long and drawn out, hoping for answers please.

Hi snowdrop the sunroof frame rusts and expands stopping it from moving. Its best to get a handle to open it and then free it up, I went around the edge with a rubber hammer ta get the rust to fall out. cover seats first. Then when free replace the motor, plastic wheels are on ebay but may need some work to fit.

Probably worth tying your local Ford dealer for a manual sunroof handle - most likely common to several Ford cars of that era.

I think mine came from a mondeo, at the scrap yard.
