New parts for 24v

Does anyone know where I can get new parts for the front suspension of my 24v. We already have the main parts but my garage can't get the rubber bits to hold them together, they say the parts must be new as we have already tried second hand and they don't cure the problem. Thank you

If it's the rear wishbone bush you can find them on ebay Ford part no 7307905. OEM ones are also available. This is the first Ford one I found, so haven't compared prices: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223460448505 The front wishbone bush (comes already fitted to new wishbones) part no 7372344: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273574378213 If it's the antiroll bar bushes, I find if I buy pattern ones even though they have the correct part no they've been the smaller bushes (the 2.3 & cosworth bar is thicker) Ford part no 7260108: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272863346147 The wheels must be taking the weight of the car before tightening wishbone bolts - rubber bushes will be excessively twisted if tightened with suspension hanging low.

Thank you so much for your help. I think it must be the rubber insulator that we are looking for. I've had a squeak from the front passenger side for 2 years now, my trusted Ford garage that I've been with for 11 years has already changed the track rods which were worn and improved it but it came back. Now they have taken it apart and said the main joint is mush, so I guess that's what he means. He's tried to get other makes of the parts that would fit but no luck. Like me he is very fussy when it come to my car which we both love very much. I'm so afraid now that something serious will go and I won't be able to get those parts either. A squeak I can live with if I have to but to lose Reg would be the end of the world!

I have had a "fine weather" "squeak" on the front right of my Cossie estate for a while now, seems the bush dries out its not a problem as mine are still sound. There are replacements out there but Ford ones are probably very hard to find now. You are not far away from me why not try Glidden Ford here in Churston Torbay, ask for Martin as he is very happy to find stuff (love that word) for real Fords, menton me if you like, as I nag him sometimes for bits. Cheers Roy Must try and get some Scorpios together here in the south west sometime this year!

Thanks Roy I'll definitely give Martin a try, my chaps have already lubricated everything twice so I don't think it's just dry but if he can find us the part we're looking for it would be brilliant. I do hope we can meet one day, Regards Eileen and REG

Have I missed something? Surely the bit listed in Tompion's post is the right part and it says it's a genuine ford part? At that price I'd have two!!

The "fine weather" "squeak" is often the inner ball joint of the track rod (covered by the steering rack bellows) massaging grease into it may help. The worn joint shown here: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/srackrepair.htm

Hello Tompion, time to worry then! Will get it checked out, this is literally a fine weather noise, any cool ness or damp/rain and it's quiet, just occurs on the drivers side Thanks

Hi Roy, Not intended to worry you The picture in the link was just to show the part I meant not that it might be worn - suggesting quite the opposite. The joints are often very tight when new, if it's still tight & the grease has dispersed then a fresh dollop of grease may do the job. Dave

Hello Tompion, You seem really knowledgeable, mine is more a wet weather squeak, any kind of unevenness in the road and it's like an 'ouch'. My garage has taken the whole front suspension apart and lubricated it twice. They've replaced the track rods which were worn but still the squeak remains. I keep having dreadful break judder as well. They say the only answer is to rebuild the whole thing with new, they've already got most of the parts it's just this big main joint they can't find. Thank you so much for your time and advice. Eileen

Hi Dave, My garage hasn't told me the part number or what exactly it is probably because I wouldn't understand, I only know how to love my car I trust them with the rest. I was about to buy that part on ebay so it's a good job I looked here first. Mark, at the garage has tried all his usual suppliers and looked on the internet himself so I'm guessing he would have tried ebay. He says not to worry and that it will turn up one day, thankfully it is just a squeak and not serious but it has made me frightened. I don't have many driving years left but I can't begin to imagine life without REG, we've been together for 11 years.

Why not print off the diagram that Tompion has posted and take it to the garage? Better still log on to this site at the garage and let them see what is being said.

My wonderful garage has done it again, the brake judder has gone and my baby drives like he's brand new. The part we need is the cup for the bottom strut. I seem to remember some members saying they got parts from Germany and Mark says if anyone could give us contacts we would be very grateful since he's tried everywhere he knows here. Thanks to everyone for your help. Eileen and REG

scorpi-oh. I'm sure people would offer help if you could just identify the part by reference to the diagram Tompion mentioned. I personally can't see what it is you are after?

My garage showed me yesterday, it's the section below the picture here, there's the cup that we want that the strut fits into and a spring below that. It's the lowest part of the front suspension that he says rarely had any problems. I'm sorry I don't know more.

I'm sorry I am still bemused. There is nothing below the wishbone, item 1 in the diagram. PM me the telephone number of the garage and I'll ring them and see if we can sort it.

I've just had a horrible feeling. Are we talking about 'our' Scorpio or are we talking about the MK2 which was a Granada Scorpio with a totally different front suspension set up?? 'Our' Scorpio is pictured above. The older model is totally different.
