The front drivers side Strut has seized - horrible cracking sound as the steering wheel is turned - so I am wondering if anyone has a replacement for me please?

Best regards

Have a look at Fault finder and scroll down to Suspension. Here

You could also look at this page and select the appropriate picture.

thank you Simmo.

Following your advice I have had a good look and read at the info, and now I believe that the fault is not in the Strut but elsewhere so I shall get Ruby up on stands and have a good check out of the suspension.  The noise from which is a very loud and distinct CRACK when I turn the steering wheel.

Looking at the picture of the Front Strut I think that a failure here would be catastrophic.

It's too cold for this old geezer at the moment but once it warms up I will get on and do stuff.

If you or anyone else has any advice for me please don't hesitate to give it.

Thanks and happy week to you.

Some early anti-roll bars didn't have shoulders next to the ARB bushes to prevent them moving sideways, but whether that would cause a cracking sound I don't know. There was a clamp kit fitted around the anti-roll bar next to both bushes to fix this. If yours has clamps fitted make sure they haven't moved.
