This is not the common rot box car that you will find on ebay. I have another project to do and so I'm selling this to raise some funds. Not mint, but very very tidy.

All electrics work, dark green with raven leather interior

£2,300 of GasPower gas conversion, new inner and outer sills and pro spray job, 17" Wolfraces (unmarked) with Avons, 82,000 miles. New rad and thermostat. History.

Make me a sensible offer, but remember that the car stands me at £6.5K since I bought it in September last year.

e-mail me for pics

I'm looking for around the £3,000 for this genuine low mileage and sorted car. If you want a solid and very nice cossie estate with reasonable running costs you will struggle to find better.

Or you can see if you can find a low mileage one to buy one in need of work and spend the money like I did.

Unfortunately not, just a touch of reality on what I could expect to get with all the work done. You never get it all back do you.

Nope, you'd be naive to think you could mate Smiley

Bought my 2.3 for £1700 back in 2004, spent over £4k on it (including new autobox, did I ever mention the autobox? Roll Eyes Wink)...sold it in January for £850 and even then I got over the odds for it. But, I needed it gone at the time and it went to a good home...

It's life mate, not always fair unfortunately, I've seen prices of the Scorp crash from around £2.5k to barely scrap value since I owned mine Sad

It sounds like a nice car & considering the cash you've spent on it, & it's a cossie estate, then 3K is probably a fair price.

But in reality, I don't think you will get what you're asking for.

The car is 12 years old & even though it may be in good nick & very economical, they just aren't desirable enough to fetch that kind of money anymore, regardless of how much has been spent on it  Sad

I'm not sure even a low milage, LPG converted facelift would fetch that price  Undecided

Anyway, good luck & I hope someone will appreciate what a good car it is & offer you a good price  Smiley

True enough JC, I only paid 3K for my silver facelift Cossie back in 2004 when it had a mere 56000 miles on the clock. It now has 98000 and does have LPG (Did I tell you all that?) I just run it on LPG when I want to go on a run... most times it still drinks petrol!!

Undecided

I bought my car for £1020 this time last year, spent £2000 on gas conversion, £200 on steering rack, £150 on disks pads and bearings £400 on tyres. £60 for re-gas  Blew engine after already being into it for this much.... Spent another £715 on S/H engine, £1024 to have it fitted including new clutch £220, Battery £69 plugs oil and filters. Then for mot, LH bottom f/suspention arm and flexi £120 another re-gas and fault finding session £124 a pair of s/h calipers £40 etc etc etc I have also bought many other items such as sensors, relays, a thermostat, bulbs and fuses and the story goes on cos the next thing to sort is the bodywork with a possible lower half respray....

 Huh
Cor it's frightening when you see it all totted up like this.... all I can say is I didn't really realise just how much I love my SCORPIO

Wish this helped

i've just been reading how much you've all spent on your scorp's  Shocked for 6.5 k (!!) i'd have at least expected a couple of superchargers bolted to that engine along with possibly a time travelling function  Undecided

i bought my td about a yr and 8 months ago with 4 months tax on it for £400, full serv. hist and a wad of receipts.

in the 40k miles i've had it the only things its consumed and had to be replaced to keep it running is
a wheel bearing (£40),
a couple of inlet and exhaust gaskets (less than a tenner),
a clutch (done at work for £50)
2 weeks ago a power steering pump (99p and working absolutely spot on from ebay!  Grin),
and a new set of wiper blades thats about it  Cool so other than £25 on servicing parts every 5K miles motoring doesnt come much cheaper!

And as for my £200 cossie, in the 14 or so months iv had that all thats consumed is... vast quantities of petrol  Wink Grin

That said, it certainly sounds like a nice motor you've got and good luck with the sale  Smiley

You enjoy motoring in the way I do mazzy. Ok so I paid £1700 for my 97 tdi ultima estate 15months ago but since then I've spent out on a new battery and two sets of servicing parts and thats it, total spend under £100. Oh and the Mot which it flew through without any spending required (£40).  Its covered well over 30,000 in that time a lot of it spent towing a loaded trailer for work when I run out of spare lorries or being driven flat out. Yesterday it was 2.4 ton (approx) of 6, 8'x6' marble slabs on the trailer being towed behind the motor.

That siad the cossies especially can be a bit of a money pit, but yours does sound like a good noe. Good luck with the sale.

As they say what a car is worth is how much someone is willing to pay for it on the day.

Cheers
Paul
